CLUB POLICIES (17th May 2021) - Incorporating Steps 1 to 3 of the easing of restrictions.


If you wish to play, for the time-being, it is essential to book a rink using the NEW rink booking sheets on the notice board.

To support NHS Test and Trace a temporary record of all visitors for 21 days is required to be kept. All booking sheets and match cards will be kept for this purpose.

There are different rules for casual play and organised matches
Organised Matches 

  • Matches against other clubs or Internal Club events, National and County Competitions and Coaching Sessions
  • Maximum 48 players on the green
  • In addition, up to 30 spectators allowed.

Casual games

  • Casual play including rollups 
  • Maximum 30 players on the green
  • In addition, up to 30 spectators allowed.
  • Rink booking required using the rink-booking sheets system.
  • Booking slots are 1 hour 30 minutes long


  • The clubhouse is permitted to open from 17th May 2021
  • The changing pavilion will be open from 12th April 2021.
  • The toilet facilities will be OPEN. 
  • Face coverings must be worn indoors including the changing rooms
  • Sanitizer will be available for cleaning hands, and the carpark gate padlock. 
  • Outdoor catering is permitted from 12th April
  • Restricted Indoor catering is permitted from 17th May


  • 30 People are allowed to meet outdoors (or indoors under hospitality rules).


  • Car sharing is permitted in accordance with government guidance


Try to avoid using shared equipment whenever possible. If you do share equipment, it is essential that you both clean the equipment and practise strict hand hygiene including sanitisation after use.
 Mats / Jacks

  • Will be stored in the lean-to where the bowls pushers are normally stored.
  • Please replace after use and after cleaning.
  • The mats are coloured yellow at one end and white at the other.
  • One player to touch the yellow end and the other the white end.
  • Players are advised to have their own mat/jack during any session

Bowls Pushers 
•    The pushers must ONLY BE USED BY ONE NOMINATED PLAYER on each rink throughout the session.
•    Each pusher MUST BE SANITIZED BEFORE and AFTER USE, by that same nominated player. 

Other Permitted Equipment
•    Gloves 
•    Scorecards (these should be retained by one person only if required) 
•    Bowling arm/lifter (for use by one person only if required) 
•    Bowling aids (for players with a disability if required) 
•    Chalk (Spray chalk only) 
•    Measure - Should measuring be necessary, players or marker must use their own measure.
•    Ditch Markers

•    Social distancing guidelines must be followed between people from different households. This means a distance of 2m between people from different households, or 1m plus mitigations (such as face coverings) where 2m is not possible. 
•    Although it will be open, please avoid using the toilet if possible.
•    Clean everything you touch.
•    Wash and sanitise your hands before and after play.
•    Wash the mats and jacks after play. 
o    Please use the water hose near the changing pavilion for this purpose.
o    Please do NOT use disinfectants OR bleach to clean mats or jacks to avoid damaging the green.
•    A dispenser containing SANITISING GEL will be situated by the carpark gate and another dispenser will be placed inside the grounds.
•    SANITISE the gate padlock and toilet door handles BEFORE & AFTER USE.
 N.B.     Please note that by booking a rink for play, you agree to follow the current Club guidelines at all times.

As the Country advances through the various stages of recovery from the coronavirus pandemic, these conditions will change. 
Expected Updates :- 

Step 4 (Monday 21 June at the earliest) 
•    All restrictions are potentially to be lifted
