CLUB POLICIES

RINK BOOKING

If you wish to play, for the time-being, it is essential to book a rink.

Please use the rink-booking links above.

To support NHS Test and Trace a temporary record of all visitors for 21 days is required to be kept. All booking sheets will be kept for this purpose.

If you do have difficulties OR you are unable to access the website, Mark Wilkin and Claire Hewitt have both agreed to assist at the following times

  • 8 a.m. – 9 a.m. Claire Hewitt
  • 6 p.m. – 7 p.m. Mark Wilkin

PLAY

  • Play will be limited as follows
    • Up to six individuals from different households playing on a single rink
    • This includes singles, pairs and triples (**)
    • Rink booking slots will be of 1 hour for bowling, plus 15 minutes to arrive and get ready to bowl, and 15 minutes to clean and put away afterwards.
    •  Booking slots are 1 hour 30 minutes long

** Although the committee has voted narrowly in favour of permitting triples, the vote was extremely close and the committee is not actively recommending triples at this time.  The reason for our caution is that there is more danger of the social distancing rules being forgotten or ignored with six players on the rink.

Social distancing guidelines must be followed between people from different households. This means a distance of 2m between people from different households, or 1m plus mitigations (such as face coverings or avoiding face-to-face contact) where 2m is not possible. We recommend that players maintain social distancing of 2m.

CLUBHOUSE & FACILITIES

  • The clubhouse will remain closed. (This will be reviewed again at the end of August 2020)
  • The changing-pavilion will remain closed.
  • The toilet facilities will be OPEN.  However, to limit cleaning work, only one toilet block, i.e. the ladies toilet, will be  available for use.
  • Sanitizer will be available for cleaning hands, and the carpark gate padlock. However, it is always wise to bring your own if possible.

EQUIPMENT

  • Mats
    • Will be stored in the lean-to where the bowls pushers are normally stored.
    • Please replace after use and after cleaning.
    • Please DO NOT use your own personal cloths to clean or dry the mats.
    • Only one player should handle the mat during the session
  • Jacks
    • Will be stored in the lean-to where the bowls pushers are normally stored.
    • Please replace after use and after cleaning.
    • Please DO NOT use your own personal cloths to clean or dry the jacks.
    • Two jacks (one at each end) should be used and this should be set by one player throughout the session.
  • Bowls    -
    • Only your own bowls may be used. (Club bowls will not be available).
  • Rink number markers
    • Play must be ONLY on these rinks as laid out at the start of each day.
  • Bowls Pushers
    • There are TWO CONDITIONS which MUST be adhered to if pushers are used, to help guard against the spread of infection.
    • 1). The pushers must ONLY BE USED BY ONE NOMINATED PLAYER on each rink throughout the session.
    • 2). Each pusher MUST BE SANITIZED BEFORE and AFTER USE, by that same nominated player.

PERSONAL CARE

  • Although it will be open, please avoid using the toilet if possible.
  • Clean everything you touch.
  • Bring any food or drink you need with you. Do NOT use waste bins, please TAKE HOME with you your waste items.
  • Wash and sanitise your hands before and after play.
  • Wash the mats and jacks after play.
    • Please use the water hose near the changing-pavilion for this purpose.
    • Please do NOT use disinfectants OR bleach to clean mats or jacks to avoid damaging the green.
  • Please use ONLY the carpark  gate to the green, to minimise contact and risk of infection.
  • A dispenser containing SANITISING GEL will be situated by the carpark gate and another dispenser will be placed inside the grounds.
  • SANITISE the gate padlock and toilet door handles BEFORE & AFTER USE.

 ADDITIONAL RECOMMENDATIONS from BOWLS ENGLAND

  • Maximum of 30 people on site
    • The law requires that no more than 30 people are allowed on site at any one time otherwise this would be classed as a large gathering.

  • Travelling for bowls
    • You should not travel in a small motor vehicle with someone from outside your household (for example you should not give a lift to any players from outside your household nor accept one). You should also consider all other forms of transport before using public transport.

N.B.     Please note that by booking a rink for play, you agree to follow the current Club guidelines at all times.

POLICY UPDATES

As the Country advances through the various stages of recovery from the coronavirus pandemic, these conditions may change. We need to be ready to strengthen or relax measures at short notice (for example in the case of a ‘local lockdown’).

Once any Government changes have been incorporated within Bowls England guidance and advice we will inform all members accordingly. Members will receive an email, if and when things change, also notices will be posted at the green and the website will be updated to reflect any changes as well.
