Wade Cup (2024)

“The Wade Cup was run this year on Friday, 2nd August as always for the benefit of the Bowls Leicestershire Benevolent Fund. The winning Club this year was Hollycroft Park Bowling Club, with a combined aggregate total of plus 35 shots. In second place came Bagworth B.C., with a combined total of plus 24 shots, and in third place was Wycliffe B.C. , with plus 17 shots. Many congratulations especially to Hollycroft B.C. who last won the trophy in 2011. The Wade Cup trophy was presented to Hollycroft Park B.C. on Sunday, 10th August, by the competition organiser, Mr Frank Barrett, who thanked most sincerely all the clubs and players who took part and who helped to raise a total of £410 for the Benevolent Fund, and that amount has now been presented to their treasurer.

Frank thanked Hinckley Bowling Club for continuing to sponsor the Competition, and for the Club’s generous financial contribution by doubling all other Clubs’ entry fees which naturally helped to bolster the final amount raised to the grand total of £410 as previously mentioned.”
